About the Role

Perplexity is seeking a Search ML Engineer to build AI-powered search and retrieval systems. You will develop ranking models, implement RAG pipelines, and optimize search relevance for millions of queries across the web.

Requirements

4+ years of experience in search or information retrieval
Strong skills in Python and ML frameworks
Experience with embedding models and vector search
Knowledge of ranking algorithms and relevance metrics
Experience with large-scale data processing

Nice to Have

Experience with web crawling and indexing
Background in knowledge graph construction
Familiarity with RAG architectures
Experience with query understanding and intent classification
