About the Role

Duolingo is hiring an AI Learning Scientist to apply ML to personalized language learning. You will develop spaced repetition models, adaptive difficulty algorithms, and AI-generated exercises that help millions of people learn languages more effectively.

Requirements

3+ years in ML, data science, or learning science
Experience with personalization or adaptive systems
Strong skills in Python and statistical modeling
Understanding of learning theory and pedagogy
Experience with A/B testing and experimentation

Nice to Have

PhD in cognitive science, education, or related field
Experience with spaced repetition or knowledge tracing
Background in NLP or language assessment
Experience with Duolingo or edtech products
