About the Role

Duolingo is hiring an AI Learning Scientist to apply ML to personalized language learning. You will develop spaced repetition models, adaptive difficulty algorithms, and AI-generated exercises that help millions of people learn languages more effectively.

Requirements

• 3+ years in ML, data science, or learning science
• Experience with personalization or adaptive systems
• Strong skills in Python and statistical modeling
• Understanding of learning theory and pedagogy
• Experience with A/B testing and experimentation

Nice to Have

• PhD in cognitive science, education, or related field
• Experience with spaced repetition or knowledge tracing
• Background in NLP or language assessment
• Experience with Duolingo or edtech products
