Research Scientist — Foundation Models

About the Role

Google DeepMind seeks a Research Scientist to push the frontiers of foundation models. You will design and conduct experiments on next-generation architectures, contribute to Gemini model development, and publish impactful research at top venues.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
• Strong publication record at top-tier ML venues
• Deep expertise in transformer architectures and language modeling
• Proficiency in JAX/TensorFlow and Python
• Experience with large-scale experimentation

Nice to Have

• Experience with multimodal models
• Background in reinforcement learning
• Experience leading research projects or mentoring
• Contributions to widely-used ML frameworks
